Ke Ali'i Pauahi Foundation (KAPF) administers merit-based and/or need-based scholarships with various eligibility criteria, Ke Ali'i Pauahi Foundation may administer scholarships for other organizations whose mission or purpose is consistent with those of Ke Ali'i Pauahi Foundation and Kamehameha Schools.
Current scholarships were created by private donors and are awarded on the basis of academic merit and/or donor specified criteria. Applications are open to the general public, including students who are not graduates of Kamehameha Schools. However, it is the policy of Ke Ali'i Pauahi Foundation to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Ke Ali'i Pauahi Foundation administers scholarships with various eligibility requirements. To apply for Ke Ali'i Pauahi Foundation scholarships, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
1. Be enrolled full-time in an accredited two or four-year post-high degree program. Some scholarships allow for part-time enrollment; check eligibility criteria. Documentation of acceptance will be required to receive an award.
Full-time enrollment is defined as:
- Undergraduate: 12 credits per term
- Graduate or Doctoral Programs: 6-9 credits per term *
* or the minimum number of credits required by the degree program
2. Be actively pursuing a degree.
3. Regardless of financial need, you must submit a FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR).
Edwin Mahiai Copp Beamer Scholarship
Honors the lifetime performance career of singer, pianist, composer and Hawaiian cultural resource Edwin Mahiai Copp Beamer. This award supports a post-secondary student pursuing a career in music, specifically piano and/or voice, with emphasis on Hawaiian music, opera or musical theater. Must demonstrate a serious commitment to music training, a career in music and dedication to artistic excellence, and demonstrate financial need.
Requirements:
1. Printed Signature Confirmation Page (from online application)
2. College Acceptance Letter (if you are attending a college or university for the first time or currently enrolled college student changing schools or degree programs)
3. Official Transcript of Grades
4. Student Aid Report (SAR)
Additional items required:
• Two letters of recommendation from teachers (piano, voice), counselors or music professionals;
• Essay describing their background, musical accomplishments and educational goals;
• Finalists may be asked to conduct an informal musical performance or provide a video of their performance
