Treasure Valley Community College Ontario, United States - Oregon

Descrierea universitatii (pe baza site-ului oficial)
Treasure Valley Community College was founded in the fall of 1962 as part of the Oregon Community College system. Classes were originally conducted at Ontario High School during the late afternoon and evening hours. The College celebrated its first graduation ceremony the following spring when students enrolled in the one-year Licensed Practical Nursing program completed their studies.
Beginning with a solitary building, TVCC moved to its present location in the fall of 1965. Several other buildings were added during the next year and today the campus houses 13 major buildings.
TVCC has grown from an enrollment of several hundred students, to one of several thousand annually. Currently, more than 12,000 students attend classes each year, either on a full-time or part-time basis.
Growth, however, has not altered the basic concept under which TVCC was founded. The College is still dedicated to high quality, up-to-date instruction; typically a low student/instructor ratio; effective low cost education; and a pleasant college atmosphere. TVCC continues to grow and change to meet the needs of both its students and the community it serves.
TVCC has five locations in Eastern Oregon, and one in Western Idaho. Our main campus, established in 1964, is in Ontario, Oregon. The college has outreach centers in Nyssa, Burns and Lakeview, Oregon, and a branch campus in Caldwell, Idaho
Cultural Diversity
Treasure Valley Community College actively promotes an inclusive learning environment which fosters social justice, mutual respect, understanding, civility, and non-violence to the diverse college community. TVCC is committed to the elimination of discrimination based on gender, race, class, economic status, ethnic background, sexual orientation, age, physical ability, and cultural and religious backgrounds.
Financial aid
Your college education is a big investment of your time, effort, and resources. Determining how to fund your college education should be one of your first priorities as you prepare for your future. Many individuals are not able to assume the full financial burden of attending college and financial aid is often available from a variety of sources to bridge the gap between the cost of education and available financial resources.
Treasure Valley Community College offers a variety of services and resources through TVCC Financial Aid designed to help you locate and secure funding for college. Primarily, the TVCC Financial Aid Department administers aid from three sources. The “Big Three” (Federal, State, and Institutional funds) are the largest sources of funding for our students. In combination with your own private sources of funding we hope to make your college goals a reality.
Scholarships and Grants are forms of aid that help students pay for their education. Unlike loans, they do not have to be paid back. Scholarships, grants, and tuition waivers come from a variety of college, federal, state, and private sources. Generally, scholarships and tuition waivers are reserved for students with special qualifications, such as academic, athletic, or artistic talent. Awards may also be available for students who are interested in particular fields of study. |
